cineSync 3.0 released - with Shotgun integration
Thursday, 13 May 2010
Until today, we've always had two versions of cineSync - the standard version and cineSync Pro. However from today, we now have a new unified client, cineSync 3.0.
The unified client means that everyone will be able to use the same version, which makes things much easier for guests as well as for facilities that run both standard and Pro sessions.
With cineSync 3.0, the features available to you when you start a session will depend on your account - so you'll only have access to all the Pro features if you have a Pro account. We've issued some new cineSync Pro pricing packages that make it more affordable for smaller facilities and productions. The features enabled in your account will also be available to any guests in your session.
cineSync 3.0 has a number of new features. The first thing you'll notice is a brand new look. The new interface is clean and streamlined (although you can opt for the classic interface via preferences). We've also added new notes functionality at the bottom of the window - simply click "Show Notes" and the notes window will pop down. Notes can be applied per frame, per clip or per session. The notes are private and can't be seen by anyone else in your review. For shared discussion, we've added a simple text chat client within the buddy list which you can launch from the Window menu, or you can use the "sticky note" text annotation tool. We've also added a new preference for Auto-Saving sessions.
If you have a cineSync Pro account, things get really good.
For cineSync Pro customers, you have new stereoscopic playback tools, you have the ability to export Quicktime movies with the annotations burned in and most excitingly, support for the new cineSync API to integrate cineSync with the rest of your pipeline. We've used the new API to comprehensively integrate cineSync with Shotgun, the industry-leading project management solution. For more information on the Shotgun integration, check out www.cinesync.com/shotgun.
From now on, all cineSync demo accounts will be Pro enabled, so you'll be able to try out the full range of features. If you've had a demo previously but would like to try the new cineSync 3.0, please contact cineSync Product Manager Rory McGregor.
